
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country.
FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events October 21-27)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:
- FCSAA DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Taylor Sass, Hillsborough
- FCSAA DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Abana Terran, Daytona State
- FCSAA DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Maria Contreras, Santa Fe
- FCSAA DII Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Elizabeth McDonald, Pasco-Hernando State
- FCSAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Maddie Mire, Pensacola State
- FCSAA DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Lauren Schuessler, Pensaocla State
- FCSAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Luc Achermann-Stanfield, Eastern Florida State
- FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Sienna Gillespie, Daytona State
- FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Evan Casterline, Daytona State

Fall Sports Updates
- Cross Country
- Men: Eastern Florida State (DI) and Daytona State (DII) won the team titles at the FCSAA Cross Country Championships; Eastern Florida State's Morgan Vici and Daytona State's Evan Casterline won the individual titles
- Women: Seminole State (DI) and Pasco-Hernando State (DII) won the team titles at the FCSAA Cross Country Championships; Seminole State's Morgan Harvill and Pasco-Hernando State's Emelyn Lacour won the individual titles

- DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Florida SouthWestern, (2) Miami Dade, (17) Santa Fe, (19) Eastern Florida State, (RV) Daytona State
- The FCSAA Division I Volleyball Championship gets underway Friday at Florida SouthWestern State College. The top two finishers in the six-team event will also advance to next weekend's South Atlantic District Tournament at Spartanburg Methodist College.
- DII: NJCAA rankings - (5) Gulf Coast State, (11) Pensacola State
- DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Florida SouthWestern, (2) Miami Dade, (17) Santa Fe, (19) Eastern Florida State, (RV) Daytona State
- Men's Soccer
- DI: NJCAA rankings - (7) Eastern Florida State, (8) Miami Dade, (16) Daytona State
- Eastern Florida State went on the road and won twice to claim the NJCAA Region 8 Championship. After a 2-1 win at Daytona State on Friday, the Titans went to Miami Dade on Sunday and beat the Sharks, 4-2. Both teams will play in this weekend's Southeast District Tournament, hosted by Eastern Florida State College. The Titans will be the No. 1 seed and open play against Southern Union (Ala.) State while the No. 3 seed Sharks will play No. 2 USC-Sumter.
- Women's Soccer
- DI: NJCAA rankings - (9) Daytona State, (16) Eastern Florida State, (18) Miami Dade.
- Daytona State won its first FCSAA Championship on Sunday, defeating Eastern Florida State, 6-0. Both teams will play in this weekend's Southeast District Tournament, hosted by Eastern Florida State College. The Falcons are the No. 1 seed and will play Southern Union (Ala.) State while the No. 3 seed Titans will play No. 2 USC-Lancaster.
- DII: Pensacola State, who is ranked No. 17 in this week's NJCAA poll, will play for the South Atlantic District Championship on Saturday when it travels to Cape Fear (N.C.) Community College.
