TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Friday's FCSAA Cross Country Championships crowned four new champions - two team, two individual - in the women's 5K. In Division I, Seminole State College claimed the NJCAA Region 8 Championship, behind overall race winner Morgan Harvill while Pasco-Hernando State College won the FCSAA Division II Championship, led by DII individual champion Emelyn Lacour.

Division I

Seminole State, under the guidance of head coach Tucker Morgan, won its first Division I team title, finishing with 24 points to unseat two-time defending champion Eastern Florida State College (33 points). Chipola College was third.

Harvill (19:22.10) and teammate Rachel Horsford (20:48.60) gave the Raiders a 1-2 finish, boosting their chances at the team title. Eastern Florida State's Amelia Shephard (20:51.40), Marlie Gonzalez (20:55.10) and Rori Pandolfini (20:57.70) finished third through fifth, respectively, but Seminole State grabbed sixth through eighth to clinch first.

Liliana Flores (21:02.70), Darcy Cernansky (21:14.80) and Nina Rodriguez (21:16.50) rounded out the scoring for the Raiders.

Harvill, Horsford, Shephard, Gonzalez, Pandolfini, Flores and Cernansky earned All-NJCAA Region 8 honors.

Division II

Pasco-Hernando State regained the women's Division II team title thanks to three runners finishing in the top four.

Behind individual champion Lacour (19:41.90), Nathalia Mallo (20:03.20) finished second and Carlie Ortiz (21:17.50), fourth. That enabled the Bobcats to finish with 35 points, 20 points clear of runner-up Daytona State College's 55 points.

First-time participant Gulf Coast State College was third with 83 points, led by Emily Hull (21:26.60), who placed seventh.

Florida Gateway College was fourth with 111 points, led by Abigail Candler (20:56.60), who finished third, and Roxxi Ottum (21:25.10), who finished sixth.

South Florida State College's Callie Phillips (21:19.00) rounded out the Division II All-FCSAA team with a fifth-place finish and helped the Panthers finish fifth in the team standings.

The College of Central Florida, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Lake-Sumter State College, Pensacola State College and Tallahassee State College finished sixth through tenth, respectively, in team scoring.

Pasco-Hernando State's Jacki Waller was named FCSAA Division II/NJCAA Region 8 Coach of the Year.

The teams will now get ready for the NJCAA Cross Country Championships on November 9 and NJCAA Half Marathon on November 12. Both events will take place in Richmond, Va.
