TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its Division I Basketball Polls and announced Weekly Awards in Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country.


October 21, 2024, Coaches' Polls

FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events October 14-20)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:

  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Julia Grubisic Cabo, Florida SouthWestern
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Mia Martinez, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Camilla Brandalise, Florida SouthWestern
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Patrycja Kabala, Palm Beach State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Maddie Mire, Pensacola State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Lauren Schuessler, Pensaocla State
  • FCSAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Zak Ford, Eastern Florida State
  • FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Paige Phillips, Pensacola State
  • FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Troy Winkler, Florida Gateway

Fall Sports Updates

  • Cross Country - the FCSAA Cross Country Championships will run in Tallahassee on Friday, October 25. Apalachee Regional Park will host the event for the ninth consecutive year. The men's 8K will kick things off at 8 a.m. followed by the women's 5K will follow at 9 a.m.
  • Volleyball
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Miami Dade, (2) Florida SouthWestern, (15) Daytona State, (16) Eastern Florida State, (RV) Hillsborough
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (7) Gulf Coast State, (13) Pensacola State
  • Men's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (5) Miami Dade, (8) Eastern Florida State, (13) Daytona State. Miami Dade earned the No. 1 seed and a bye into Sunday's Region 8 Division I Men's Soccer Championship Game. The Sharks will host the winner of Friday's semifinal between Eastern Florida State and Daytona State. 
  • Women's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (9) Daytona State, (14) Eastern Florida State, (15) Miami Dade. Daytona State clinched the No. 1 seed in the FCSAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship with Monday's 2-1 win at Eastern Florida State. The four-team tournament will take place at Daytona State on Friday and Sunday, October 25 and 27.
    • DII: Pensacola State, who is ranked No. 17 in this week's NJCAA poll, won the Region 8 Championship by completing a season sweep of its four-game regular season series with Pasco-Hernando State. The Pirates picked up back-to-back 3-0 wins on Thursday and Friday in New Port Richey and will now prepare for the South Atlantic District Championship Game on November 2 against the Region 10 Champion.
  • Men's Basketball
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (3) Daytona State, (6) Northwest Florida State, (10) Chipola, (23) Eastern Florida State, (RV) Indian River State, (RV) Florida SouthWestern
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (22) Florida State College at Jacksonville
  • Women's Basketball
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (2) Northwest Florida State, (6) Gulf Coast State, (20) Eastern Florida State, (24) Pensacola State
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (15) Palm Beach State
  • Women's Golf
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Daytona State, (4) Eastern Florida State, (5) Seminole State
  • Men's Swimming & Diving - Indian River State had 11 different individual winners in a 228-72 win over St. Thomas.
  • Women's Swimming & Diving - Behind a new national record by returning NJCAA Female Diver of the Year Alexandra Andueza, Indian River State beat St. Thomas 215-85. Andueza's winning score of 314.47 surpassed her previous record by 21 points.
