TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 17, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its Player of the Week selections for baseball.
Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for games May 9-15)
Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:
- Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week: Edrick Feliz, Central Florida; Barry Eiseman, Florida State College at Jacksonville
- Region 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Sam Swygert, Central Florida; Daniel Gaviria, Florida State College at Jacksonville
All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Spring Championships Updates
- Softball
- Division II: Pasco-Hernando State College fell to Louisburg (N.C.) College in the championship game of the South Atlantic District Tournament. The Bobcats' season ends at 32-20.
- Women's Golf
- Playing in the inaugural Division I event, Seminole State College won its third straight NJCAA Women's Golf Championship. Daytona State College and Eastern Florida State College finished 2nd and 6th, respectively. Seminole State's Minori Nagano won the individual title.
- Women's Tennis
- Hillsborough Community College finished second at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships. St. Petersburg College and State College of Florida finished 4th and 6th, respectively. Hillsborough also boasted two singles and two doubles champions while St. Petersburg garnered one singles and one doubles title.
- Men's Golf
- Men's Tennis
- Eastern Florida State's men's tennis team is in Tyler, Texas, for the Division I Men's Tennis Championships. Play began Monday and continues through Friday.
- Baseball
- Division I: The College of Central Florida won the FCSAA/South Atlantic District Championship, defeating Miami Dade College, 4-3, to punch its ticket to Grand Junction for the first time since 1998.
- Division II: Florida State College at Jacksonville defeated host Catawba Valley (N.C.) Community College, two games to one, to win the South Atlantic District Championship Series and advance to its first Division II World Series in Enid, Okla.
- Outdoor Track & Field
- Tallahassee Community College had three participants qualify for the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Hutchinson, Kan., May 19-21.
