TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 26, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and Player of the Week selections for baseball and softball.

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for games April 18-24)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week: Edrick Felix, Central Florida
• Region 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Brian Holiday, Florida SouthWestern
• Region 8 Softball Player of the Week: Feline Poot, Florida SouthWestern
• Region 8 Softball Pitcher of the Week: Kylie Coffin, Pasco-Hernando State

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Spring Championships Updates

• Seminole State College led Region 8's 1-2-3 finish at the NJCAA Southeast District Women's Golf Tournament. Daytona State College finished second and Eastern Florida State College, third. Seminole State and Daytona State qualified for the NJCAA Tournament, May 9-12, whlie Eastern Florida State will hope for an at-large berth.
• Pasco-Hernando State College defeated Florida State College at Jacksonville, two games to one, to win the NJCAA Division II Region 8 Softball Championship Series. The Bobcats will advance to the NJCAA South Atlantic District Tournament in Henrico, Va., May 11-14.
• Pasco-Hernando State earned the top seed and will host the NJCAA Division II Region 8 Baseball Tournament, April 28-May 1. A complete tournament schedule can be found online.
