TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 3, 2022) - The Florida College System Activities Association has released its weekly coaches' polls and Player of the Week selections for baseball and softball.

• Region 8 Softball Coaches' Poll (Final Poll)

Region 8 Player of the Week Awards (for games April 25-May 1)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• Region 8 Baseball Player of the Week: Nick Collins, Polk State
• Region 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Tobin Moran, Santa Fe
• Region 8 Softball Player of the Week: Raissa Bianco, Miami Dade
• Region 8 Softball Pitcher of the Week: Kaycee Torres, South Florida State

All Player of the Week honorees will be considered for NJCAA Player of the Week honors, which will be announced Wednesday.

Spring Championships Updates

• Florida State College at Jacksonville won the NJCAA DII Region 8 Baseball Championship with a 9-2 win over Pasco-Hernando State College. The Blue Wave awaits the Region 10 champion for a best-of-3 series for the right to advance to the Division II World Series.
• The FCSAA announced its all-conference baseball and softball teams on Monday.
• The Division I FCSAA Baseball and Softball Tournaments begin this weekend. Complete information can be found under the Championships tab.
