CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 12, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced its Player of the Week awards on Wednesday.
Among the recipients is Daytona State College's Shannon Jones, who was named NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Jones, a freshman from Maitland, Fla., was the top NJCAA finisher at last Saturday's Florida State University Invitational.
Running in a crowded field of 281 runners, Jones placed 52nd overall with a 5K time of 18:42.5, one of the top five NJCAA times this season.
Jones was named NJCAA Region 8 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
