
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Pensacola State College setter Kiara Vega received a pair of National Player of the Week awards on Wednesday.
First, she was named the Division II Offensive Player of the Week by the NJCAA. Later in the day, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced her as the AVCA/GameChanger Women’s Two-Year College Player of the Week.
A sophomore from Lake Mary, Fla., Vega averaged 10.7 assists over 15 sets, helping Pensacola State to a 5-0 week. She also posted 0.7 kills, 0.7 service aces, 2.8 digs and 0.2 blocks per set.
Vega had three matches with 33+ assists and recorded 43 assists against both Northwest Mississippi CC and St. Johns River State College.
Vega was named the NJCAA Region 8 Division II Setter of the Week on Tuesday.
