
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 12, 2022) - Polk State College's Kaila Ru was named the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Ru, a sophomore middle blocker from Auckland, New Zealand, averaged 5.0 kills, 0.1 service aces, 0.5 digs and 1.1 blocks over eight sets of play.
She also tallied an impressive .627 hitting percentage.
In a five-set match vs. Hillsborough Community College, she recorded 26 kills.
Ru had 14 kills and six blocks in a straight-set win vs. Santa Fe College.
On Tuesday, she was named Region 8 Division I Volleyball Player of the Week.
