NJCAA Region 8 Volleyball Notebook: September 24

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 24, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Division I and Division II Volleyball Coaches’ Polls for September 24 and Division I and Division II Player, Defensive Player and Setter of the Week for all matches played through September 16-22.

The next poll and individual weekly awards will be released October 1.

NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Division I Weekly Awards

Player of the Week: Isabel Martin, Hillsborough
Fr. – OH | Mauerstetten, Bavaria, Germany 

  • Averaged 5.5 kills and 4.5 digs over 10 sets in three matches during the voting period
  • Helped Hillsborough to a 2-1 week
  • Posted double-digit kills and digs in each match, beginning with a 22-kill, 18-dig effort against top-ranked Polk State

  • Led Broward to a 2-1 week
  • Raised her assist total in each match, culminating with 46 in five-set loss at Florida SouthWestern
  • Also averaged 1.9 digs and 0.5 kills per set
