NJCAA Region 8 Volleyball Notebook: September 10

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 10, 2019) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Division I and Division II Volleyball Coaches’ Polls for September 10 and Division I and Division II Player, Defensive Player and Setter of the Week for all matches played through September 2-8.

The next poll and individual weekly awards will be released September 17.

Player of the Week: Yaniris Miller-Green, Miami Dade

  • Averaged 4.4 kills and 2.8 digs over 16 sets in four matches
  • Led Miami Dade to a perfect 4-0 week, which included wins over three nationally-ranked opponents
  • Recorded double-digit kills in each match, including 23 in a four-set win over defending national champion College of Southern Idaho
  • Posted three double-doubles (kills/digs)

Defensive Player of the Week: Paola Pimentel, Miami Dade

  • Led Miami Dade to a perfect 4-0 week, which included wins over three nationally-ranked opponents
  • Recorded double-digit digs in each match, including 25-Dig Club entries vs. defending national champion College of Southern Idaho (26) and Snow (27)

Setter of the Week: Camila De la Rosa, Miami Dade

  • Averaged 12.5 assists in 15 sets over four matches
  • Led Miami Dade to a perfect 4-0 week, which included wins over three nationally-ranked opponents
  • Had two 50+ assist performances – 57 vs. defending national champion College of Southern Idaho and 50 vs. Utah State Eastern
  • Recorded three double-doubles (assists/digs)
