Hillsborough's Isabel Martin named NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, Fla. (October 9, 2019) - Hillsborough Community College's Isabel Martin was named NJCAA Division I Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Martin, a freshman middle hitter from Mauerstetten, Bavaria, Germany, averaged 4.7 kills and 1.9 digs over 13 sets in three matches during the voting period. She also tallied a .478 hitting percentage and averaged 0.4 service aces and 0.5 total blocks per set.

Martin helped nationally-ranked Hillsborough to two wins in three matches, the lone setback being a five-set loss to Miami Dade College. In a battle of nationally-ranked teams, she has 22 kills and 15 digs vs. St. Petersburg College.

Martin is Region 8's fourth NJCAA Player of the Week in 2019, joining Miami Dade's Yaniris Miller-Green, Polk State College's Suared Molina and St. Johns River State College's Jordyn Pruski.
