
TYLER, Texas - Hillsborough Community College delivered a dominant performance en route to the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis National Championship.
This is the Hawks' second national title in three seasons.
Hillsborough dominated the field, finishing with 52 points, running away from both Cowley (Kan.) College and Tyler (Texas) Junior College, who had 39 and 35 points, respectively.
St. Petersburg College narrowly missed the podium, finishing just outside the top three with 33.5 points. Eastern Florida State College gave the FCSAA three teams in the top 5, finishing fifth with 30 points.
With representation in all nine finals events, Hillsborough was in prime position to win the title.
The quartet of #3 Aisulu Zholbolat, #4 Noah Rojas, #5 Younsoo Cho and #6 Salomea Jasiczek all claimed singles titles and First-team NJCAA Singles All-America.
Although #1 Catherine Goldman and #2 Sydney Stark came up short in singles play, they teamed up to win the #1 doubles championship. Cho and Zholbolat won at #2 doubles and Rojas and Johanna Marten won at #3 doubles. All three pairs earned First-team NJCAA Doubles All-America honors.
Goldman and Stark were recognized as Second-team Singles All-America.
The #2 Doubles was an All-FCSAA final - Cho and Zholbolat defeated St. Petersburg's Yui Suzuki and Daniela Vivas Valencia, who were named Second-team NJCAA Doubles All-America.
Hillsborough's Sarah Lytle was named Coach of the Tournament.
