
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Indian River State College continued its dominance of NJCAA Swimming & Diving by winning the Women's National Championship on Saturday.
The victory marked the 43rd straight championship, and 47th overall, for the Pioneers.
Indian River State tallied 1,436 points in team scoring, led by NJCAA Swimmer of the Year Aurora Zanin and NJCAA Diver of the Year Alexandra Andueza.
Not to be outdone, Indian River State's men's team won its 51st straight national championship.
Combined, Indian River State teams won 49 of 50 events during the championship and The River women established the following NJCAA records over the four-day event:
- Women's 1 meter diving: Alexandra Andueza, 319.75 points
- Women's 200m Free Relay: Sara Safranko, Ameilia Brown, Kelly Zwart, Anna Villamil, 1:31.24
- Women's 100m Backstroke: Wiktoria Maciuszek, 54.24
- Women's 200m Butterfly: Aurora Zanin, 1:59.52
- Women's 200m Medley Relay: Wiktoria Maciuszek, Ana Villamil, Kelly Zwart, Sara Safranko, 1:40.04
- Women's 3 meter diving: Alexandra Andueza, 349.55 points
- Women's 400m Free Relay: Sara Safranko, Nika Tomic, Amelia Brown, Aurora Zanin, 3:22.21
Fellow FCSAA member College of the Florida Keys scored 13 points in team scoring.
Indian River State's David Suba was named NJCAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year.
