CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Eastern Florida State College's Jessica Reis was named the Division I Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.
Reis, a freshman from Burghausen, Germany, had one of her best weeks as a member of the Titans, helping them to a 2-0 week behind a pair of stellar outings.
Against Polk State College, Reis allowed a goal on a tricky shot from a tough angle but then shut down the Eagles attack including a nice punching save on a free kick in the second half to preserve the 3-1 win. Reis finished with three saves in the game.
Then against Daytona State College, Reis came up huge when it looked like the Falcons may tie things early in the second half with an incredible diving save. That was one of seven saves Reis made in the shutout, which was her third of the season.
It is the first time Reis has been named the NJCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week.
