
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Daytona State College's Sienna Gillespie was named the Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Gillespie, a freshman midfielder from Tampa, Fla., was named the Most Outstanding Player at the FCSAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, where she led the Falcons to their first-ever FCSAA title with wins over Polk State and Eastern Florida State.
Against Eastern Florida State in the final, she scored twice in less than a minute to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead then added a goal in the final minute of the match for the hat trick and had an assist for seven total points.
On Tuesday, Gillespie was named FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
