TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association announced its Division II All-NJCAA Region 8 women's soccer team on Wednesday.

Headlining the 11-member team is Division II Region 8 Women's Soccer Player of the Year Mia Johnson of Pensacola State College.  

The All-NJCAA Region 8 team was voted on by Region 8's Division II women's soccer coaches.  

Johnson, a freshman midfielder from Seattle, Wash., has helped the Pirates take a step forward in year two of their program. Though she may only have two points (on two assists) for the season, her versatility has allowed her to play as forward, outside back and center back. As a result, she's been a difference-maker, helping Pensacola State develop a reputation for being stingy on the defensive side and why the Pirates have earned a national ranking and most of their matches have been a 1-2 goal difference.

By virtue of guiding his team to the Division II NJCAA Region 8 Championship, Pensacola State's Mark Yepishin was selected the regular season Coach of the Year.

Has appeared in 11 matches...made 10 starts...another key factor in the Pirates ranking in the top 25 nationally in goals allowed.

Has played in 12 matches...scored six goals and recorded two assists for a total of 14 points...

Has made six starts in goal for the Pirates and appeared in eight matches total...allowed only seven goals in 540 minutes...recorded an .873 save percentage while notching four wins.

Ariana Wilson, Pasco-Hernando State

Appeared in 11 matches...helped the Bobcats record a pair of shutouts to open the season.
