TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association announced its Division I All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 women's soccer teams on Friday.
Headlining the 11-member first-team is FCSAA Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Year Julia Gurgel of Miami Dade College.
The All-FCSAA first- and second-teams, as well as the FCSAA individual awards, are voted on by members of the FCSAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee.
Gurgel, a freshman forward from Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, Brazi, helped the Sharks to a 10-4 record in their inaugural season and a No. 15 NJCAA ranking. In six FCSAA matches, she recorded five goals and two assists and has scored 12 goals overall on the season, including four game-winners.
Gurgel was named FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week on October 1.
By virtue of guiding her team to the number one seed in the FCSAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship, Daytona State College's Hope Clark was selected the regular season Coach of the Year.
