
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Chipola College's Kanija Daniel was named the Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Daniel, a sophomore guard from Carrollton, Ga., played one game last week but it was a big one.
In a 67-57 win against previously unbeaten and top-ranked Northwest Florida State, she recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks. Shooting-wise, she was 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from the field, 50.0 percent (4-of-8) from three and 81.8 percent (9-of-11) from the free throw line in the win.
On Tuesday, Daniel was named FCSAA Player of the Week.
