Women's DI All-FCSAA Team announced; Chipola's Daniel voted Player of the Year

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida College System Activities Association announced its Division I All-FCSAA women's basketball team on Monday.

Headlining the 12-member team is FCSAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year Kanija Daniel of Chipola College

The FCSAA Player of the Year is voted on by members of the FCSAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee. 

Daniel, a sophomore guard from Carrollton, Ga., was previously voted the Panhandle Conference Player of the Year and First-team All-Panhandle after leading the FCSAA in scoring at 20.1 points in 27 games for the Indians. She also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 41.7 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three and 73.1 percent from the free throw line.

Daniel's scoring numbers also place her fifth nationally. 

She is a three-time FCSAA Player of the Week and was named NJCAA Division I Player of the Week on January 28.

Mekhia Chase, Northwest Florida State
Sophomore | Guard | California, Md.

Previously named First-team All-Panhandle...has appeared in 27 games...averaging 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists...shooting 55.9 percent from the field, 31.9 percent from three and 77.3 percent from the free throw line...FCSAA Player of the Week on March 4.
