CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Pensacola State College's Jaida McDonald was named NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
McDonald, a freshman forward from Dallas, Texas, averaged 18.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 block in three games.
She shot 53.2 percent (25-of-47) from the field and hit five of ten free throw attempts.
McDonald recorded three straight double-doubles, leading Pensacola State to wins over Mississippi Gulf Coast Commnity College, Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College.
Against Mississippi Gulf Coast, she hit 10-of-17 shots en route to 21 points and 13 rebounds. McDonald had 15 points and 14 rebounds vs. Hillsborough and tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds vs. St. Petersburg.
She was named NJCAA Region 8 Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
