Miami Dade's Daliyah Brown named NJCAA Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (November 20, 2019) - Miami Dade College's Daliyah Brown was named NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Brown, a sophomore guard from Chicago, Ill., averaged 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.5 steals in four games during the voting period. She shot 36.9 percent (31-of-84) from the field and 73.3 percent (33-of-45) from the free throw line. 

Brown led Miami Dade to four wins vs. Region 8 competition (St. Petersburg College, Eastern Florida State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Daytona State College), improving the Sharks to 6-1 on the season. 

She posted three double-doubles, one of which was a 40-point triple-double (40 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville. 

Brown, who was named NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week on Tuesday, is Region 8's second NJCAA Player of the Week, joining Gulf Coast State College's Ahlana Smith.
