CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Florida SouthWestern State College's Zoe Yzaguirre was named the Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Yzaguirre, a freshman right-hander from Lehigh Acres, Fla., went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in three appearances last week.
She was credited with the win in game one vs. Hillsborough after getting the start and tossing three scoreless innings.
After that, all Yzaguirre did was beat a pair of nationally-ranked opponents, including a nine-inning 1-0 shutout vs. Seminole State.
In the Bucs' 2-0 win vs. Daytona State, she struck out 13 en route to another complete-game victory.
For the week, Yzaguirre totaled 19 innings in the circle, allowing 10 hits, no runs and two walks while striking out 21.
On Tuesday, she was named FCSAA Division I Softball Player of the Week.
