
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Lake-Sumter State College's Megan Wright was named NJCAA Division II Softball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Wright, a freshman outfielder from Apopka, Fla., batted .800 (12-for-15) with 11 runs scored, four doubles, one triple, eight RBI and two stolen bases in five games for the Lakehawks.
She hit safely (including at least one extra-base hit) and scored in each game.
Wright was 3-for-3, scored three runs and drove in four runs in game two vs. Lincoln Land (Ill.) Community College.
She ended a three-game series vs. Pasco-Hernando State College by going 6-for-7 with five runs scored and two RBI in the doubleheader.
Wright, who is Lake-Sumter State's first NJCAA Softball Player of the Week, was named the Region 8 Division II Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
