Central Florida wins first FCSAA Softball Championship

LONGWOOD, Fla. (May 4, 2019) - The College of Central Florida won its first FCSAA State Softball Championship, knocking off Florida SouthWestern State College, 6-3, on Saturday.

The win also gave Central Florida (54-9) the NJCAA District G Championship and a berth in the NJCAA Tournament in St. George, Utah. 

Florida SouthWestern, the No. 1 team in the country, lost for the just the second time this season. The Bucs, who are now 54-2 on the season, will have a second opportunity to punch its ticket to Utah on Sunday. They will play at noon against the winner of the 10 a.m. game between Indian River State College and Chipola College.
