
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Florida Gateway College's Troy Winkler was named the Division II Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Winkler, a freshman from Sanderson, Fla., was the top NJCAA runner at the Julius Johnson Invitational, where he finished 23rd overall in a field of 108 runners.
Finishing the 7.7K race in a time of 26:30.6, he helped Florida Gateway to a sixth-place finish in the team scoring.
On Tuesday, Winkler was named the FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
