
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Florida Gateway College's Troy Winkler was named the Division II Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Winkler, a freshman from Sanderson, Fla., won the men's 5K at the Alligator Lake Open, posting a time of 16:14.4.
His efforts helped Florida Gateway to a second-place finish in the team standings.
Winkler will look to ride the momentum into Friday's FCSAA Championships, which will run at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
On Tuesday, Winkler was named the FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
