CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 19, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its Player of the Week recipients for October 19 and Region 8 grabbed its second men's cross country award of the season.
Daytona State College's Christian Ruocco was named NJCAA Division II Men's Runner of the Week following a winning performance in Tampa, Fla., last weekend.
Ruocco, a sophomore from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., won the University of South Florida Invitional. In a field which featured 143 runners from two- and four-year schools, Ruocco crossed the finish line first with an 8K time of 25:54.
Ruocco was named Region 8 Men's Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
