
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 7, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its Player of the Week recipients for September 7 and Region 8 grabbed its first cross country award of the season.
Daytona State College's Sebastian Hernandez was named NJCAA Division II Men's Runner of the Week following a solid season debut at the Border Clash hosted by Valdosta State University.
Hernandez, a sophomore from Wesley Chapel, Fla., finished third overall in the 7.25K race with a time of 23:40.2.
His efforts helped Daytona State to a third-place finish in the team standings.
Hernandez was named Region 8 Men's Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
