TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 28, 2022) - Tallahassee Community College men's track & field standout Leo Rutledge qualified for the NJCAA Outdoor Championships during Auburn University's Tiger Track Classic, held March 18 and 19.

While running at the annual event held on The Plains, Rutledge added two more school records to his already impressive resume. As the only two-year college athlete in the meet, Rutledge opened with a personal best in the 5000 meters, finishing eighth overall out of 22 entrants in 15:15.12, a time that qualified him for the 2022 NJCAA Track & Field National Championships, which take place May 19-21 in Hutchinson, Kan. His time bested the previous school record by more than 30 seconds.

The following day, Rutledge smashed TCC's 800m record with a time of 1:57.81. He now owns the TCC record in all events from 800m to cross country's 8K, while continuing to maintain a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

Rutledge, a true freshman, is from Tallahassee and a graduate of Maclay School.
