MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 27, 2014) - The Eastern Florida State
College Titans, who have recorded three second-place finishes in
their three multi-team tournaments, have achieved the lowest
scoring average in the nation at 284.67 and are ranked second
nationally as a team behind Wallace State (Ala.) Community
College-Hanceville, according to www.golfstat.com.
Also, three Eastern Florida State players have earned national
rankings.
Freshmen Mickey DeMorat and Kerry Sweeney are ranked third and
fifth, respectively, while sophomore Brad Gray is ranked 11th.
“While it is early in the season, it is encouraging how
competitive and consistent both Mickey DeMorat and Kerry Sweeney
are right from the start,” said Eastern Florida State head
coach Jamie Howell. “Brad Gray has capitalized on his
experience from last year while Mickey and Kerry set the bar for
the rest of the team. Our first team win will happen when all five
players contribute as we need four scores to count each
round.”
The Titans wrap up their fall season with the November 10-11
NJCAA District 4 Preview in Alexander City, Ala.
Men's golf plays its championship season in the spring.
