
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Daytona State College's Tyrese Lacey was named the Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Lacey, a freshman guard from Birmingham, England, averaged 11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 11.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games.
He shot 47.4 percent (9-of-19) from the field and 36.4 percent (4-of-11) from three.
Lacey led the Falcons to a pair of wins behind consecutive double-doubles. The NJCAA leader in assists tallied 13 (and 10 points) vs. Santa Fe and 10 (and 12 points) vs. Miami Dade
On Tuesday, Lacey was named FCSAA Division I Player Player of the Week.
