CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its weekly award winners on Wednesday and Indian River State College's Mostapha El Moutaouakkil was named Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Moutaouakkill, a sophomore guard from Rabat, Morocco, averaged 33.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in two games.
In wins against St. Petersburg and Polk State, he shot 52.5 percent (21-of-40) from the field, 38.5 percent (5-of-13) from three and 76.0 percent (19-of-25) from the free throw line.
Moutaouakkill recorded a double-double in both games - 31 points and 10 rebounds vs. St. Petersburg; 35 points and 12 rebounds vs. Polk State.
This is his second NJCAA Player of the Week award of the season.
Moutaouakkill was named NJCAA Region 8 Division I Player of the Week on Tuesday.
