FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (March 5, 2022) - Florida Gateway College went on the road and defeated Fayetteville (N.C.) Technical Community College, 80-77, to win the Division II South Atlantic B District Championship and a berth in the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championships.

The Division II tournament will take place March 15-19 in Danville, Ill. The bracket will be announced during the Division II Tournament Selection Show on Tuesday, March 8 at 2 p.m. eastern on the NJCAA Network. 

The Timberwolves surged to a 46-36 halftime lead against the Trojans then held on in the final seconds to claim the victory. 

Jazan Johnson scored 17 points to lead Florida Gateway. Antonio Card and D'Andre Jefferson had 11 points each. Omari Jordan scored nine and pulled down 11 rebounds. 

Florida Gateway last appeared in a national tournament in 1970 when it qualified for the Division I tournament as Lake City Community College.
