Gulf Coast State's Cam Holden named NJCAA Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 8, 2020) - Gulf Coast State College's Cameron Holden was named NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Holden, a sophomore guard from Forsythe, Ga., averaged 30.7 points, 15.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in three games during the voting period. He shot 62.1 percent (36-of-58) from the field, 60.0 percent (9-of-15) from three and hit 11 of 19 free throw attempts while leading Gulf Coast State to three victories, including a double overtime win at Panhandle Conference rival Northwest Florida State.

Holden posted a double-double in each game – including two monster performances to close the period – 35 points and 15 rebounds against Monroe, and 41 points and 17 rebounds against Northwest Florida State.

This marks Region 8's third NJCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week award in 2019-20. State College of Florida's D'Moi Hodge was honored on both December 2 and 16.
