CF Men's Basketball downs State College of Florida

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida men's basketball team has put things together entering Mid-Florida Conference play.

The Patriots (15-6) won their fourth straight game, as they routed State College of Florida-Manatee 97-57 on Wednesday night.

Terrell Rogers and Corbyn Jackson led the Patriots, ranked No. 8 in the state, with 12 points each.

CF had averaged 88 points per game during its previous three games and just missed out on hitting the century mark for the second time in four outings.

The Patriots swept the season series from the Manatees and improved to 22-1 over the Suncoast Conference over the past four seasons.

CF has won nine straight dating back to 2011 against SCF.

An early 21-4 run gave the Patriots all the momentum they would need, as they built a quick 18-point lead and emptied its bench to fully show off their depth.

CF led 47-25 at halftime and made 20-of-34 shots over the opening 20 minutes.

The Patriots held the Manatees to 9-of-33 shooting during the first half and never trailed on the night.

With the win, CF, which returned to the state rankings after falling out the previous week, can now focus its attention on rival Santa Fe in the conference opener for both teams on Saturday night at 7:30 in Ocala.

The Patriots have won 16 of the last 18 meetings with the Saints. CF won three of the four matchups with SFC, including a win in Ocala in the MFC tie-breaker game for the conference's second spot at the state tournament.
