
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Florida SouthWestern State College's Carlos Sanchez was named the Division I Baseball Player of the Week.
Sanchez, a sophomore outfielder from Maracaibo, Venezuela, batted .667 (6-for-9) with four runs scored, three doubles, one triple, 11 RBI and three stolen bases in three games.
He had two hits, a stolen base and at least three RBI in all three games of a series vs. Daytona State. Sanchez drove in five runs in game two of the series and went 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI in game three.
On Tuesday, he was named FCSAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week.
