FCSAA announces DII Baseball Awards

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) is pleased to announce its Division II Baseball Awards for the 2025 season.

The 13-member All-FCSAA team, which includes the Fireman of the Year and also recognizes the Player and Pitcher of the Year, was voted on by the FCSAA's six Division II baseball coaches. 

Separate from the All-FCSAA vote, coaches selected a Gold Glove Team and Defensive Player of the Year.


Division II All-FCSAA

FCSAA Division II Player of the Year
Brody Dalton, St. Johns River State
Freshmman| Outfield | Chapmanville, W.V.

One of three outfielders on the All-FCSAA team...previously named the Sun-Lakes Conference Player of the Year...has appeared in 54 games...batting .339 with a FCSAA-best 18 home runs and 55 RBI...has scored 50 runs...named FCSAA DII Player of the Week on March 11.

FCSAA Division II Pitcher of the Year
Michael Savarese, Pasco-Hernando State
Sophomore| RHP | Brooksville, Fla.

One of three pitchers on the All-FCSAA team...previously named the Sun-Lakes Conference Pitcher of the Year...has appeared in and started 14 games...is a perfect 11-0 on the season...has posted a 1.09 ERA...112 strikeouts in 82.2 innings pitched...holding opponents to a .153 batting average...a six-time FCSAA DII Pitcher of the Week in 2025...was the 2024 FCSAA DII Pitcher of the Year.

FCSAA Division II Fireman of the Year
Drew Dawson, South Florida State
Sophomore | RHP | Gainesville, Fla.

One of three pitchers on the All-FCSAA team...previously named the Sun-Lakes Conference Fireman of the Year...all but two of his 23 appearances have come in relief...is 9-1 with a 2.40 ERA...has struck out 49 batters in 45 innings...holding opponents to a .181 batting average.

Infield

Isaiah Baez, Palm Beach State
Sophomore | Fort Pierce, Fla.

Appeared in 43 games...batted .373 with three home runs and 38 RBI.

Grant Jordan, Pasco-Hernando State
Sophomore | St. Petersburg, Fla.

Has appeared in 49 games...batting .371 with three home runs and 35 RBI...has scored 35 runs and stolen 21 bases.

Gabe Roque, Palm Beach State
Sophomore| Jupiter, Fla.

Appeared in 38 games...leads the FCSAA with a .385 batting average...drove in 18 runs...made the All-FCSAA team as a freshman in 2024.

Brandon Vargas, South Florida State
Sophomore | West Broward, Fla.

Has appeared in 53 games...batting .332 with two home runs and 26 RBI...has scored 49 runs and stolen 18 bases...a two-time FCSAA DII Player of the Week in 2025.

Outfield 

Zach Doorlag, South Florida State
Sophomore| Sebring, Fla.

Has appeared in 53 games...batting .369 on the season...his 10 home runs rank No. 2 in the FCSAA and 53 RBI is fourth-best...has scored 56 runs...leads the FCSAA with 17 doubles and is one of six players who has recorded three triples on the season...a three-time FCSAA DII Player of the Week in 2025.

Clay Thompson, Pasco-Hernando State
Freshman | Tampa, Fla.

Has appeared in 53 games...batting .364 with six home runs and 37 RBI...leads the FCSAA with 74 runs scored...has stolen a school-record and FCSAA-leading 54 bases...shares the FCSAA lead in triples (3) with five other players.

Catcher 

Juan Lopez, Pasco-Hernando State
Freshman | Maracaibo, Venezuela

Has appeared in 49 games...batting .331 with seven home runs...shares the FCSAA lead with 55 RBI...has scored 35 runs.

Designated Hitter 

Landon Carter, South Florida State
Freshman | Port Charlotte, Fla.

Has appeared in 53 games...batting .325 with five home runs and 42 RBI...has scored 31 runs.

Pitcher 

Riley Fisher, Pasco-Hernando State
Sophomore | LHP | Brooksville, Fla.

Has appeared in 14 games, all start...is 9-3 on the season with a 3.68 ERA...has struck out 70 batters in 66.0 innings pitched...named FCSAA DII Pitcher of the Week on April 15.

Previously named the Sun-Lakes Conference Defensive Player of the Year...has appeared in 49 games...committed only three errors in 153 total chances...recorded 55 putouts and 95 assists from his shortstop position...posted a .980 fielding percentage...was even better during the Bobcats' 30-game conference schedule, posting a .990 fielding percentage - just one error in 99 total chances.
