CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Seminole State College's Danny Ramirez was named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Ramirez, a sophomore first baseman from Kissimmee, Fla., batted .529 (9-for-17) with 10 runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI in four games.
He helped Seminole State to a 3-1 week, including a series victory over the College of Central Florida.
Ramirez hit safely, scored and drove in a run in each game.
In game one against Central Florida, he reached base six times (4-for-4, 2 BB) and scored six runs, doubled twice, homered and drove in four runs. He ended the series with another 4-RBI effort, going 2-for-5 with a homer.
Ramirez was named NJCAA Region 8 Division I Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
