CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gulf Coast State College's Brant Baughcum was named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Baughcum, a sophomore third baseman from Buford, Ga., batted .692 (9-for-13) with nine runs scored, one double, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBI in three games.
He went 3-for-4, scored three runs and drove in two vs. Coastal Alabama Community College-North.
Later in the week, in a doubleheader vs. Andrew (Ga.) College, he 4-for-5 in game one with three home runs and seven RBI in the Commodores' 30-13 win. He homered and drove in five runs in the game two win.
Baughcum was named NJCAA Division I Baseball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
