CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Northwest Florida State College's Sam Strek was named NJCAA Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday.

Strek, a freshman righty from Jensen, Mich., went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one appearance last week.

Strek earned the complete-game win in the Raiders' victory over Gulf Coast State College. 

In seven innings, he allowed only one hit and one run (unearned) while walking none and striking out 10.

Strek was named NJCAA Region 8 Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
