PALATKA, Fla. - St. Johns River State College is headed to the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series for the second straight season.

The Vikings punched their ticket to Enid, Okla., by winning the NJCAA South Atlantic District Championship Series, two games to none, over Coastal Alabama Community College-North.

St. Johns River State took a thrilling game one by the score of 7-6 then cruised to a relatively easy 7-1 win in game two to capture the District Championship.

After competing against Region 10 in District play through the 2023 season, the 2024 campaign ushered in a four-year cycle where the FCSAA Champion will play the Champion of the Alabama Community College Conference (NJCAA Region 22). When it was determined the FCSAA would host the best-of-three series in 2024 and 2026, St. Johns River State's Tindall Field was awarded the district series, regardless of who represented the FCSAA.

The Vikings earned the No. 2 seed in the FCSAA Division II Baseball Championship but emerged with its second straight Championship and, thus, got to play in front of their home crowd - and eventually celebrate a World Series berth - for the second straight season.

A year ago, St. Johns River State beat Lenoir (N.C.) Community College, two games to none, en route to a third-place finish at the World Series.

The Vikings will take a 38-23 record to Enid.
