CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 23, 2022) - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced its Player of the Week awards on Wednesday and Gulf Coast State College's Carson Dorsey was named Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Dorsey, a freshman from Panama City, Fla., was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one appearance last week.
The southpaw took the mound against NJCAA #7 Northwest Florida State College last Saturday and promptly tossed a seven-inning, two-hit shutout in the Commodores' 7-0 win.
In the win, Dorsey only walked one batter and struck out 13.
On Tuesday, Dorsey was named NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
