GREENVILLE, N.C. (May 14, 2019) - Pasco-Hernando State College completed an improbable run through the loser's bracket to claim the NJCAA DII Southeast District Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

After forcing the "if" game with Monday's 5-2 win over top-seed Brunswick (N.C.) Community College, Pasco-Hernando State got the best of Dolphins in Tuesday's winner-take-all finale by the score of 6-1.

The Bobcats, who entered the Southeast District field as the No. 3 seed and champion from Region 8, move on to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Okla., May 25-31.

Pasco-Hernando dropped its first game of the tournament on Friday, a 13-8 defeat to tournament host Pitt (N.C.) Community College, and immediately fell into the loser's bracket. Five elimination games followed and the Bobcats successfully navigated each one, beginning with Saturady's 7-6, 10-inning win over Wake (N.C.) Technical Community College.

Pasco-Hernando State knocked out Southeastern (N.C.) Community College on Sunday, 12-8, to earn a rematch with Pitt in Monday's loser's bracket final. The Bobcats got their revenge in the form of an 8-0 shutout victory to advance to the championship round opposite Brunswick.
