COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 13, 2018) - The NJCAA announced its 2018 All-America baseball teams on Wednesday and included a total of seven representatives from Region 8.
State College of Florida third baseman C.J. Alexander was the lone first-team All-America selection. Alexander, the Suncoast Conference and FCSAA State Player of the Year, leading the Manatees in multiple offensive categories including: batting average (.405), slugging percentage (.785), doubles (19), triples (7), and home runs (15).
Second-team selections included Miami Dade College pitcher Yusniel Padron, Hillsborough Community College infielder Bryan Lavastida, Santa Fe College outfielder Andrew Eyster and Pasco-Hernando State College pitcher Tyler Buchanan, who made the list as a Division II honoree.
Rounding out the All-America selections are a pair of honorable mentions from national champion Chipola College - pitcher Andrew Grogan and catcher Max Guzman.
