NJCAA Region 8 Baseball/Softball Notebook: March 15

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 15, 2016) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Baseball and Softball Coaches' Polls for March 15 and Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for games played March 7-13.

The next poll and Player and Pitcher of the week selections will be released March 22.

Sophomore – 3B
Orchard Park, N.Y. 

  • Batted .438 (7-for-16) with five runs scored, four home runs and six RBIs in four games during the voting period
  • Helped St. Petersburg to a split of four Suncoast Conference games
  • Hit safely in three of the four games
  • Enjoyed career day in final game of the week vs. South Florida State, going 4-for-4 with four home runs and six RBIs in the Titans' 15-7 win

  • His efforts helped Pasco-Hernando State to a perfect 8-0 week
  • Picked up the win vs. Hibbing with three innings of work
  • Recorded the save vs. NJCAA (DII) No. 12 Lincoln Land
  • Seven shutout innings of two-hit ball in a winning effort vs. Macomb
  • In 11 total innings of work, he allowed no runs, three hits and three walks while striking out ten

  • Batted .800 (8-for-10) with three runs scored, one double, two home runs and 13 RBIs in three games during the voting period
  • Led Gulf Coast State to a perfect 3-0 record
  • Hit safely in all three games
  • Was 3-for-3 with four RBIs vs. Darton State; closed the week by going 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and nine RBIs in 13-3 win over Lansing

  • 2-0, 0.00 ERA in four appearances during the voting period
  • Titans won both of her starts against Suncoast Conference foes Polk State and Hillsborough
  • Pitched no-hitters against Polk State and Hillsborough
  • In 18.1 total innings, she allowed one run (unearned), one hit and four walks while striking out 14
