New No. 1: NWF State takes over the top spot in NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (January 28, 2015) - Northwest Florida State College is the new No. 1 team in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Poll.

The Raiders finally overtook Vincennes (Ind.) University, ending the Trail Blazers' seven-week reign at No. 1. Northwest Florida State received seven first-place votes, one less than No. 2 Vincennes, but garnered 342 total points in the voting, one more than the Trail Blazers. 

Eastern Florida State jumped back into the top ten at No. 9, thanks to Saturday's 97-78 win over then-No. 17 Broward College, who slipped six spots to No. 23.

Daytona State College received votes. 

In the Division I Women's Basketball Poll, No. 3 Chipola College and No. 4 Northwest Florida State continued to lead the Region 8 contingent. 

The top eight teams in the poll remained intact from a week ago. 

Tallahassee Community College, who lost at Northwest Florida State on January 21, dropped one spot to No. 13. Florida State College at Jacksonville remained No. 15 and the College of Central Florida jumped two spots to No. 17.
