TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country.


FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events September 16-22)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received recognition for their outstanding performance in athletic competition:

  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Katielle Alonzo Vargas, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Libby Ashline, Eastern Florida State
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Camilla Brandalise, Florida SouthWestern
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Elizabeth McDonald, Pasco-Hernando State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Morgan Langley, Gulf Coast State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Emma Richardson, Palm Beach State
  • FCSAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Marcellus McCoy, Eastern Florida State
  • FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Tiggi Gent, Eastern Florida State
  • FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Troy Winkler, Florida Gateway
  • FCSAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Morgan Harvill, Seminole State

Tropical Weather Postponements/Cancellations

Fall Sports Updates

  • Men's Cross Country
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (21) Eastern Florida State
    • DII: For the first time in program history, Daytona State has earned the No. 1 NJCAA ranking. The Falcons are also the first FCSAA program to earn a No. 1 national ranking in cross country. Pasco-Hernando State is No. 7 while Lake-Sumter State and Florida State College at Jacksonville received votes. 
  • Women's Cross Country
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (20) Seminole State
    • DII: Pasco-Hernando State earned a program-best No. 3 NJCAA ranking followed by No. 17 Daytona State, No. 22 Gulf Coast State and No. 23 South Florida State. Lake-Sumter State and Florida Gateway received votes. 
  • Volleyball
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Miami Dade, (2) Florida SouthWestern, (15) Eastern Florida State, (17) Daytona State, (18) Hillsborough
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (7) Gulf Coast State, (10) Pensacola State, (RV) Palm Beach State
  • Men's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Eastern Florida State, (10) Daytona State, (11) Miami Dade
  • Women's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (9) Eastern Florida State, (12) Daytona State
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (17) Pensacola State
  • Men's Tennis - Eastern Florida State fared well at the ITA Fall Regionals in Albertville, Ala. Leading the way for the Titans was the doubles team of Filip Sormaz and Salva Mulet, who advanced to the finals.
  • Women's Tennis - Hillsborough Community College will host the ITA Fall Regionals on September 26-28. 
  • Men's Golf - Eastern Florida State currently sits in seventh place following two rounds at the Chuck Kalanick Memorial in Union Grove, Ala.
  • Women's Golf - Eastern Florida State won the Mustang Invitational, hosted by Northeast Alabama Community College and played in Scottsboro, Ala. Jenna Barnett was a medalist, shooting 6-under for the tournament. Meanwhile, Daytona State took on a loaded field of NCAA foes at the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman, finishing 12th in the team scoring. Palm Beach State was in Birmingham, Ala., for the Hoover Invitational, hosted by UAB, and finished 13th.
  • Swimming & Diving - Indian River State opened the 2024-25 season by hosting Florida Atlantic for a dual meet on September 20. The River men prevailed by a score of 181-118 while the Owls evened the score on the women's side, winning 183-114.
