TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country.


FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events September 9-15)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Julija Grubisic Cabo, Florida SouthWestern
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Mia Martinez, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Courtney McGuire, Daytona State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Patrycja Kabala, Palm Beach State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Morgan Langley, Gulf Coast State
  • FCSAA DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Melany Salazar, Gulf Coast State
  • FCSAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Facundo Ochoa, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week: Vivian Kettenhausen, Pensacola State
  • FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Evan Casterline, Daytona State
  • FCSAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week: Emelyn Lacour, Pasco-Hernando State

Fall Sports Updates

  • Men's Cross Country
    • At the Duval 5K XC Challenge, Seminole State and Eastern Florida State finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in team scoring. Florida State College at Jacksonville placed eighth. At the Southern Showcase, Daytona State came in 25th while Pasco-Hernando State finished 32nd. 
  • Women's Cross Country
    • At the Duval 5K XC Challenge, Seminole State placed fifth in team scoring followed by South Florida State, Eastern Florida State, Florida State College at Jacksonville and Tallahassee in eighth through twelfth, respectively. At the Southern Showcase, Pasco-Hernando State placed 34th while Daytona State was 41st.
  • Volleyball
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Florida SouthWestern, (2) Miami Dade, (13) Hillsborough, (18) Eastern Florida State, (19) Daytona State
    • DII: NJCAA rankings - (8) Gulf Coast State, (9) Pensacola State, (RV) Palm Beach State
  • Men's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Eastern Florida State, (10) Daytona State, (11) Miami Dade
  • Women's Soccer
    • DI: NJCAA rankings - (10) Eastern Florida State, (11) Daytona State, (RV) Miami Dade
    • DII: Pensacola State swept a weekend doubleheader from Pasco-Hernando, winning by the scores of 5-1 and 4-1 to grab a 2-0 lead in the regular season series that will determine the Region 8 Champion. The wins helped the Pirates jump into the NJCAA rankings for the first time at No. 19.
