TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country.

FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events September 2-8)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who received Player of the Week recognition:

• FCSAA DI Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Katielle Alonzo Vargas, Miami Dade
• FCSAA DI Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Eimy Domenech, Hillsborough
• FCSAA DI Volleyball Setter of the Week: Maria Clara Antunes, Miami Dade
• FCSAA DII Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week: Kya Colston, Gulf Coast State
• FCSAA DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week: Morgan Langley, Gulf Coast State
• FCSAA DII Volleyball Setter of the Week: Tayla Tran, St. Petersburg
• FCSAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Luc Achermann-Stanfield, Eastern Florida State

Fall Sports Updates

• Men's Cross Country
  • DI: Men: The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its preseason NJCAA polls and Eastern Florida State is ranked No. 14 while Seminole State received votes.
  • DII: In the USTFCCCA preseason poll, Daytona State is No. 4 followed by No. 13 Pasco-Hernando State and No. 18 Lake-Sumter State.
• Women's Cross Country
  • DI: In the USTFCCCA preseason poll, Seminole State checked in at No. 17 followed by No. 22 Eastern Florida State. 
  • DII: In the USTFCCAA preseason poll, Daytona State is No. 4 followed by No. 13 Pasco-Hernando State and No. 21 Florida Gateway. The College of Central Florida, South Florida State and Lake-Sumter State received votes. 
• Volleyball
  • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Florida SouthWestern, (2) Miami Dade, (16) Hillsborough, (19) Eastern Florida State, (RV) Daytona State
  • DII: NJCAA rankings - (9) Gulf Coast State, (10) Pensacola State, (25) St. Johns River State
• Men's Soccer
  • DI: NJCAA rankings - (1) Eastern Florida State, (13) Daytona State, (14) Miami Dade
• Women's Soccer
  • DI: NJCAA rankings - (2) Eastern Florida State, (7) Daytona State, (RV) Miami Dade
  • DII: NJCAA rankings - (RV) Pensacola State
• Men's Golf
  • DI: Eastern Florida State opened its fall schedule at the Dan York Invitational in Pensacola on Monday.
  • DII: Lake-Sumter State made its program debut on Monday with a head-to-head match at New College of Florida.
• Women's Golf
  
  • DI: Hot and humid conditions greeted golfers at the Seminole State College Fall Warm-up, presented by Orlando Health. The host Raiders finished in a tie for second with Eastern Florida State. Both Palm Beach State and Florida Gateway made its program debuts, with the Panthers finishing fifth and the Timberwolves, sixth.
